Easter in Drachselsried

Easter time in the village is a time for dressing up the fountain with greenery and flowers, especially on a beautiful spring morning.

Last Kesselfleisch for this winter 2011

Friday 15th April was a sad day, as it was the last Kesselfleisch evening until next winter. The venue was as always at Norbert Schötter Gasthaus zur Eiche.

Kesselfleisch is boiled pork and served with sauerkraut, raw onions and freshly baked bread and plenty of beer from our village brewer Falterbräu.

We are lucky in that Norbert starts the roast chicken evenings in May, same great beer.

Drachselsried Carnival 2011

The first Drachselsried Carnival for 5 years was held on 12th February. Thank goodness the weather was good.

Drachselsried on German TV

A wonderful picture of Drachselsried in the winter time, was shown on national television during the weather forecast on 5th January. Now everybody can see what a wonderful place it is.

Kirwa this month. Drachselsried's big festival

Come to the greatest festival that Drachselsried holds, this month, from Friday 27th until Monday 30th. On Saturday morning until about 14.00pm, there is a large open air market with approx. 200 stalls, and the beer hall is open early. See you there.
