Eisheiligen. What it means in the Bayerischer Wald

The word Eisheiligen means the "Ice Saints" and is the time from May 11th to 15th when the Icemen come. In partical terms this means for the gardener, that balcony and patio plants are not put out until the danger of the last frost has passed (May15th) Then you will see Drachselsried and the Naturpark in the Bayersicher Wald in bloom. The Icemen are:

Mamertus – 11. Mai
Pankratius – 12. Mai
Servatius – 13. Mai
Bonifatius – 14. Mai
Sophie – 15. Mai
