The first childrens' and family day in Drachselsried
Saturday June 13th, is the first time in Drachselried this special day has been held for children and the family. There will be a "Flea Market" just for children and the local Fire Service will make a presentation.

Prince Charles and the Rainforest Project
Prince Charles has launched his YouTube video about the rain forest. It is the same message that applies in Drachselsried and the Bayerischer Wald as well. Please take time to view and tell other people, the more people that see the Youtube video the better.

Drachselsried Flea Market (Kirchweih)
Every month, except in the winter, Drachselsried has a Flea Market held on the Edeka supermarket car park. Here are the remainder of this years markets.
16th May, 20th June, 18th July, 15th August, 19th September, 17th October and 21st November.
The biggest street market is the Kirwa (Kirchweih) held Saturday 29th August, useally with more than 200 stalls, and the beer hall is also open with music.

Eisheiligen. What it means in the Bayerischer Wald
The word Eisheiligen means the "Ice Saints" and is the time from May 11th to 15th when the Icemen come. In partical terms this means for the gardener, that balcony and patio plants are not put out until the danger of the last frost has passed (May15th) Then you will see Drachselsried and the Naturpark in the Bayersicher Wald in bloom. The Icemen are:

Servatius – 13. Mai
Bonifatius – 14. Mai
Sophie – 15. Mai
